Anchored by a strong Dutch-American Protestant heritage, the Holland metro has voted Republican by double digits in every recent presidential cycle, even as its manufacturing economy and growing Latino workforce add demographic pressure at the margins.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of three points in 1964 and a Republican high of sixty-six points in 1924. Between 2020 and 2024 the metro moved two points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was twenty-seven points.
