Demographics
Cookeville's Putnam County metro has posted some of Tennessee's steeper population growth rates over the past decade, driven partly by manufacturing relocation and university employment that skew its voter pool younger and more blue-collar than Nashville's suburbs.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of fifty-four points in 1932 and a Republican high of fifty-five points in 2024. Between 2020 and 2024 the metro moved five points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was fifty-five points.
