Mississippi's 2nd is a majority-Black congressional district stretching from the Delta to Jackson, producing some of the state's most lopsided Democratic presidential margins and anchoring Black political representation in a deeply Republican state.
Across the recorded series it reached a Democratic high of thirty-one points in 2012. Between 2020 and 2024 the district moved six points toward the Republican candidate; the 2024 margin was twenty points.
A population of 786,057, a 35% non-Hispanic-white share, and a median household income of $49,320 describe the district.
